My name is Jermaine Stanley. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Hollywood, FL. As a young child I was raised in a household with my mother, brother, and two sisters. My mother did not have a support system as she worked two or three jobs at a time to support our household. I did not meet my father until I was 10 years old. Our relationship was short lived as my father died in 1997 after being beaten to death by a police officer. Neighborhood violence, low income apartments, and government assistance was all I knew growing up in my community. In school, I always chose the wrong friends so I had to transfer schools several times for getting into so much trouble.  As a freshmen in high school, I had a 1.9 GPA. Coming from where I am from I was never expected to succeed in life. Although I made several mistakes, I was able to struggle through the trials and tribulations to graduate high school successfully and also pursue an education at the prestigious Bethune-Cookman University.

As the Founder of Mission: Be Great my goal is to inspire youth and prevent them from making the same mistakes that I made. I want to show young people that it is never too late to turn your life around. You can always start over and try again. I want to help spark creativity and imagination,  create a sense of hope, and more importantly help them achieve GREATNESS!!!
